Hi! I’m Ashley. Nice to meet you!
For as long as I can remember I knew what I wanted to do with my life: Anything related to wellness and fitness. The human body is amazing with its ability to heal and regenerate. From the moment I was able to make decisions about my education, I have been absorbing everything I can on these topics.
What you’ll find here at Cold Texan Wellness is information on fitness, yoga, alternative health, essential oils, quality herbs and supplements, and of course, good nutritious and delicious food. I am here for you and would love the opportunity to answer your questions. If you don’t already see what you are looking for, just shoot me an email!
In a nutshell, I am a wife, new mom, former business owner, health nut, crazy cat lady (but I love all animals), and fitness junkie.
I went college in Houston, majoring in Nursing. Most of the way through I really felt that nursing was not for me. (So much respect for all the nurses out there. I mean, wow! Y’all are amazing!) However, I will forever be grateful for this wealth of information and experience.
Shortly after, I completed training for a massage license and have been practicing therapeutic massage therapy for 10 years now. Since then I have also completed training and obtained licenses in Aromatherapy, and Yoga, have become a Reiki Master and Herbal Practitioner. Next stop, nutrition (coming 2017!). In my practice, I have worked with a couple really talented chiropractors from whom I learned so much. I will forever be grateful to them for taking me under their wings.
In 2014 I married the love of my life, closed my business, and moved to Finland (just for a few years) with our fur baby, Osiris Papyrus and in 2016 we welcomed our baby girl. Thus far it has been an adventure and I am very much looking forward to what life brings us.
After moving abroad I started a blog, Chronicles Of A Cold Texan, just as a way to keep my friends and family updated on our life and then things just evolved from there. Cold Texan Wellness is a continuation of my first blog. I shared similar knowledge that you’ll find here, in addition to my travel stories from living in Europe, and our general life stories.
